| Walt Disney Co. is expected to name
President Robert Iger as the successor to Michael Eisner, the
entertainment company's long-tenured chief executive, The New York Times
reported in its online edition on March 13, 2005. Citing a person apprised
of a Saturday night board meeting, the board voted to give Iger the job
after viewing other candidates, the paper's Web site said. Iger is seen
speaking at Disney's annual meeting in Minneapolis February 11, 2005.

BEIJING, Mar. 14 -- The Walt Disney Company's board of directors has named
company president Robert Iger to succeed chief executive Michael Eisner, who
last year announced his decision to retire.
The entertainment behemoth announced it was picking
an internal executive to replace the long-serving Eisner who has reigned as the
magic kingdom's CEO since 1984.
The 54-year-old Iger, who also holds the title of
Disney's chief operating officer, was unanimously chosen to lead the company.
He will officially take on his new role on September
30.
