Former Party chiefs, head of women's federation enter parliament standing committee

    BEIJING, March 13 (Xinhuanet) -- Two former provincial Party chiefs and a vice-president of the All-China Women's Federation on Sunday were elected members of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC).

    Song Zhaosu, 64, was former secretary of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in northwest China.

    Wen Shizhen, 65, was former secretary of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee in northeast China.

    Chen Xiurong, 51, is vice-president and member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation, China's largest women's organization.

    The three people won a by-election of the parliament session tosupplement vacancies of the NPC Standing committee, which has 175 members. Enditem
