Carnival regatta of strange boats

Carnival revellers ride on an "Achipenco", a floating device which is not a boat, that represents Madrid's burning 32-storey Windsor skyscraper during the annual carnival regatta in Puerto del Rosario on the island of Fuerteventura March 6. The crowded event is part of the flamboyant celebrations in Spain's Canary Islands. The carnival lasts for three weeks throughout the Islands, prior to the start of Lent.
