HK plans to lower marriage age
www.chinaview.cn 2005-03-11 09:34:56

BEIJING, Mar. 11 (Xinhuanet)-- The Law Reform Commission of Hong Kong has issued a report, proposing to lower the legal marriage age from 21 to 18.

The report also deals with the rights of divorced parents to visit their children. It suggests introducing the model of "responsibility from both parents" into the Hong Kong family law system to help divorced parents get more access to their children.

Currently in Hong Kong, when a couple is divorced, the court gives exclusive custody of the children to one of them, while the other parent only gets visitation rights.
