MEXICO CITY, March 10 (Xinhuanet) -- US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice made an official seven-hour visit here Thursday, which includes a meeting with President Vicente Fox and the revision of the bilateral agenda with her counterpart Luis Derbez.

On her arrival at Mexico City in the morning, Rice announced she will take part in the two international meetings in which the United States will put forth the need to extend "the benefits of democracy."

Rice was scheduled to address with Derbez issues like border rivers, security, migration and trade.

Previously, she held a one-hour meeting with Fox at the official residence of Los Pinos.

Sources near the meeting said that the parties involved talked about the coming meeting between Fox, US President George W. Bush and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin.

On March 23, the three leaders will meet at Waco, Texas, south United States, to discuss the trilateral agenda, including the so-called North American Initiative. Enditem
