RAMALLAH, March 10 (Xinhuanet) -- An Islamic Jihad (Holy War) militant was
killed by Israeli troops in a village near the West Bank city of Tulkarem on
Thursday morning, Palestinian security sources said.
Israel's Ha'aretz daily said the man was believed to have played a central role
in the suicide bombing attack against a nightclub in Tel Aviv last
month.
The Israeli army incurred in the early hours
into the village of Nazlat al-Wusta near Tulkarem and surrounded a two-story
building where Mohamed Abu Khazna, a 25-year-old Jihad militant was
hiding.
As Khazna refused to surrender, Israeli
soldiers threw grenades at the building and then an Israeli army bulldozer
demolished the house, killing the man inside, Israel's Army Radio
reported.
Witnesses said the man's body was later
found in the ruins.
Muayyed Hussein, governor of the
nearby village of Baka al-Sharkiya, confirmed the man's death, but added that he
was not sure if the man was a Jihad militant.
