SINGAPORE, March 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Vowing to set up a well-connected society in Singapore, the island state has unveiled its latest 10-year infocomm masterplan, according to Channel NewsAsia report on Tuesday night.
Named Intelligent National 2015 (IN2015), the plan is expected to help Singapore adopt new technologies to cater for the demands of its national security, economic growth and aging population.
The masterplan features cutting edge technologies including sensors, biocomputing and nanotechnology, which will bring out state-of-the-art products and more opportunities, said the report.
The Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) will beef up the plan by collaborating with industry players and the public over the next year.
Infocomm industry is forecast to account for 7.4 percent of Singapore's gross domestic product (GDP) this year, up from 6 percent in 2004. Enditem
