BEIJING, Mar. 8 (Xinhuanet)-- Profit-taking pushed the Dow Jones industrial average slightly lower on Monday as a top-level management shakeup at Boeing Co. pressured blue chips.

The Dow came within 16 points of cracking 11,000 but settled with a minimal loss while technology shares saw strong buying.

Boeing said Chief Executive Officer Harry Stonecipher was asked to resign by the company's board for having an affair with a female executive.

Stonecipher, 68, married, has two children and two grandchildren. He is the second Boeing CEO to leave in 15 months. Enditem
