Pro-Damascus Lebanese movements, including Hezbollah, will holda peaceful demonstration in Beirut on Tuesday to protest "foreign interventions" in Lebanon and to show their support to Syria,Nasrallah said after a meeting of the movement.

"We refuse that the presence of Syrian troops in the Bekaa be subject to (UN Security Council) Resolution 1559," which calls for an immediate and full pullout, Nasrallah said.

He added that Hezbollah will not lay down its weapons despite international pressure because Lebanese still needs its guerrillas as a defence against Israel.

"The resistance will not give up its arms... because Lebanon needs the resistance to defend it," Nasrallah said. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad announced on Saturday to gradually pull out its troops from Lebanon while the US urged afull and quick Syrian withdrawal from its neighbor.

Lebanon's Defense Minister Abdel Rahim Mrad said Sunday that Syria will start its troops pullback from Lebanon to the Bekaa Valley on Monday after the meeting of the Lebanese-Syrian Supreme Council. Enditem
