ROME, March 2 (Xinhuanet) -- More and more Italians see retirementas a time of freedom and opportunity to meet their interests, according to a survey released here Wednesday.
Over 60 percent of Italians above the age of 60 think retirement can give them the time of doing the things they like, and the only shadows on the horizon are fears regarding health problems.
In order to keep their health, three quarters of Italian pensioners take daily walks in the fresh air, 28 percent do a kindof sport and over half can be sure to have frequent medical checks.
Many over-60s attach importance to the relations with their children and grandchildren, and the secret to be happy is active, being autonomous and open to other people, according to the survey.
The biggest fears among the retired population are heart disease, tumors and depression.
The survey was released by the social and economic think tank Censis. Enditem |
