Sudanese vice president to attend federalism conference

    KHARTOUM, March 2 (Xinhuanet) -- Sudanese First Vice President Ali Osman Mohamed Taha left here on Wednesday for Brussels, Belgium, toattend an international conference on federalism, the official SUNAnews agency reported.

    At the invitation of Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt, Taha will participate in the meeting as head of Sudan's political and economic delegation, Sudanese Ambassador in Belgium Ali Yousif Ahmed was quoted as saying.

    Taha will brief the participants on Sudan's experience on federalism, explain developments of the peace process in Sudan and the role of federalism in helping solve the Darfur problem as it did with the south, Ahmed said. Enditem
