GAZA, March 2 (Xinhuanet) -- A senior Islamic Jihad leader revealed on
Wednesday that the movement's delegation that would participate in the planned
March 15 Palestinian dialogue in Cairo would be all from abroad, mainly from
Syria.
Sheikh Nafez Azzam told reporters that the movement had not
decided yet if a delegation that represents the movement in Gaza and the West
Bank is to join the dialogue that would be sponsored by Egypt.
But the movement's delegation based abroad, mainly in Syria
and Lebanon, will participate in the dialogue, he added.
However, Israel said earlier that it would not let Jihad leaders to head to
Cairo to participate into the Palestinian dialogues. The step came after the Tel
Aviv operation that was carried out by a Jihad militant.
Azzam said that on the dialogue's agenda it's scheduled to discuss several
issues such as the political partnership, reaching a comprehensive national
program and organizing the Palestinian internal house.
He
doubted that the Cairo dialogue is held to declare a truce with Israel, adding
that "it's still early to talk about this issue in the time that Israel is still
not committed to the demanded conditions."
Azzam revealed
that a meeting will gather representatives of the Palestinian factions with
Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas after the latter returns back from London's
conference.
He added that another meeting would be with
Interior Minister Nasser Yousef as well as several other meetings with Fatah
leadership. Enditem |
