GAZA, March 1 (Xinhuanet) -- Israeli army extended administrative detention
for the spokesman of Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the West
Bank city of Jenin for four months, Palestinian sources said on Tuesday.
Israel had renewed the sentence of administrative arresting
for Sheikh Khaled al-Hajj for the seventh time consecutively, said the
sources.
The Hamas movement condemned the step and
asserted that the Israeli policy against the movement didn't stop, said the
leaflet, adding Israel always renews the administrative arrest for the
movement's leaders and members.
The leaflet confirmed
that Israel had extended the administrative detention for al-Hajj for the
seventh time and claimed al-Hajj has to stay in jail as he is a senior leader in
the West Bank.
Israel had also transferred another
leading figure in the movement, Wasfi Kabha, to administrative detention for six
months after he ended his sentence of three years.
Hamas urged human rights institutions as to move and stop the Israeli policy
against the movement and to force Israel to end these practices that contradict
with the human rights and all the humanistic compacts.
The movement considered that the Israeli step is a clear violation to the
calmness. "Israel insists to continue the attacks against the Palestinians and
Hamas members," the leaflet added. |
