STOCKHOLM, Mar. 1 (Xinhuanet) -- A Danish yes that follows close on the heels of a French decision to adopt the EU constitution could break the back of EU skeptics and pave the way for the adoption of the EU constitution in other countries, Ritzau news bureau reported on Tuesday.

Denmark's referendum on the EU constitution will be held on Sept. 27, Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen announced onMonday after negotiations with political parties.

"A Danish vote will be the decisive vote if France votes yes intheir referendum," said Marco Incerti of the Brussels think tank Center for European Policy Studies.

"If Danes vote for, then it will shore up EU supporters' efforts in other countries, including in Britain," said Incerti.

"We won't let Danish decisions depend on what other countries decide. We know that we are going to have a referendum, so we can just as well get started now," said Rasmussen. Enditem
