    BEIJING, Feb. 28 -- A 69-year-old man has died of bird flu in Vietnam, the 14th fatality from the disease in the country this year.

    Health officials from the country's north Thai Binh provincial hospital say the man was taken to hospital on February 19th and died on the 23rd.

    Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man, also from Thai Binh province, is in a critical condition in Hanoi's Institute of Tropical Diseases.

    Thirty four people have died of bird flu in Vietnam since late 2003 and another 12 have died of this disease in Thailand.
