Turkey condemns suicide attack in Tel Aviv

ANKARA, Feb. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- The Turkish Foreign Ministry on Saturday strongly condemned a suicide attack in Israel's Tel Aviv which killed four Israelis and wounded 50 others.

"We harshly condemn this heinous attack which was apparently staged by those who are aiming to harm recent hopeful atmosphere in the Middle East," a statement said.

"Turkey stresses once again that such unjustifiable acts of violence will not serve efforts to lead the Palestinian people to take their place in the international community under the roof of a sovereign and sustainable state," it said.

"We believe the Palestinian administration will take all necessary measures to prevent such attacks," it added. A suicide bomber, identified by Israel as a Palestinian student, detonated a powerful bomb among Israelis waiting outside a seasidenightclub Friday in Tel Aviv, killing four Israelis plus himself. The attack, the first of such kind inside Israel since last September, dashed peace hopes arising after the Palestinians and Israel announced a ceasefire at a Feb. 8 summit in Egypt. The Palestinian police has arrested two suspects in the West Bank. Enditem
