ISLAMABAD, Feb. 22 (Xinhuanet) - Pakistan's Frontier Corps (FC)has foiled an attempt of drug smuggling from Afghanistan to Pakistan and seized 444 kilograms of hashish, state media reported." A few smugglers were trying to smuggle the drug from Afghanistan to Pakistan in Gulistan area when they were intercepted by a FC team," the official Associated Press of Pakistan Tuesday quoted a spokesman of FC as saying in the border city Chaman.

The smugglers after seeing the FC personnel threw away the drug and fled away from the site taking advantage of darkness, the spokesman said.

During the last two months over 1,355 kilograms of hashish have been recovered in this area, he said. Enditem
