Chinese films reap Silver Berlin Bears

    BEIJING, Feb. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- Two Chinese movies won the Silver Bear Awards at the 55th Berlin Film Festival.

    
The movie Peacock, directed by Gu Changwei, was awarded the Jury Grand Prize, while The Wayward Cloud shot by Cai Mingliang claimed the Silver Bear for outstanding achievement.

    The movie Peacock, directed by Gu Changwei, was awarded the Jury Grand Prize, while The Wayward Cloud shot by Cai Mingliang claimed the Silver Bear for outstanding achievement.

    The top award, the Golden Berlin Bear for the best feature-length film, went to the South African movie U-Carmen Ekhayelitsha.

    Marc Rothemund and Julia Jentsch were crowned with the Best Director and Best Actress awards respectively for their work in the German movie "Sophie Scholl ¨C Die Letzten Tage". Lou Taylor Pucci, the star of the U.S film "Thumbsucker", got Best Actor.
