GAZA, Feb. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- A Palestinian parliamentary member disclosed Saturday that the majority of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) members voted Friday to discharge Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei from forming the new cabinet.

The PLC held a session Friday evening in the West Bank city of Ramallah that Qurei would be given 10 days to announce his cabinet expired, said PLC member Emad al-Falouji.

At the meeting, the majority of the PLC members voted to assignanyone but Qurei to form the new cabinet, Falouji added.

He said the PLC chief Rawhi Fatouh presented a letter from leader Mahmoud Abbas which asserted that Qurei had finished his cabinet list.

The letter also informed the PLC members of Qurei's hope that the PLC would hold a session to which he would present the cabinetmakeup.

But some officials predicted that the new cabinet list will be passed easily as there are little changes.

"There have been people in the cabinet for eight years and the faces did not change," said former Justice Minister Freih Abu Medein. Enditem
