the cease-fire agreement", Ratnayake said.
In another incident a few Tiger members had verbally abused themilitary
near an army bunker at Chenkaladi in the eastern districtof Batticaloa.
When the army moved to arrest them the Tiger members had escaped.
The army accusations of provocation come ahead of the third anniversary of
the ongoing cease-fire brokered by Norway.
The LTTE and the government entered the cease-fire on Feb. 22 2002 as the
precursor to direct negotiations.
The cease-fire had largely held despite complaints from both sides of

Complaints are weighing heavily against the Tigers.
