Israeli FM says Iran will possess nuclear bomb know-how in six months

LONDON, Feb. 16 (Xinhuanet) -- Iran will have the knowledge to build a nuclear bomb within six months, Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said here Wednesday.

"The question is not if the Iranians will have a nuclear bomb in 2009, 2010 or 2011. The main question is when are they going tohave the knowledge to do it. We believe that in six months from today they will end all the tests and experiments they are doing to have that knowledge," Shalom told reporters.

"This is not only Israel's problem, but an international problem, as long-range missiles (from Iran) can reach Europe," Shalom said.

Iran has denied allegations that its nuclear program is for military purposes. But Israel, together with the United States, has long been concerned about Iran's nuclear capabilities.

Israel has even hinted it might use military means to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear arsenal. Enditem
