NEW DELHI, Feb. 16 (Xinhuanet) -- One man died and seven others were wounded Wednesday in a grenade attack in Kishtwar town in Doda district of Indian-administered Kashmir.

A guerrilla lobbed a grenade near the bus stand at Kishtwar at 11:30 a.m., injuring eight people. One of the injured persons later succumbed to his injuries, the Indo-Asian News Service quoted local police as saying.

The other injured persons were shifted to Jammu.

Meanwhile, guerrillas killed a 60-year-old man in Malouit village in Rajouri district late Tuesday night.

"Militants committed this act," a local police officer said.

Militant separatists have been fighting Indian rule in Kashmir since 1989.

More than 40,000 people have been killed since then. Enditem
