Lebanon ruled out int'l probe
www.chinaview.cn 2005-02-16 09:30:44

BEIJING, Feb. 16 -- Lebanon Interior Minister Suleiman Franjiyeh says he reserved his opinion on holding international investigation on murder of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

Franjiyeh suggested that the attack may have been carried out by a suicide bomber who rammed Hariri's motorcade with a vehicle laden with explosives.

He welcomed foreign assistance to investigation on the incident from some countries but remained that such aid is only allowed without interfering with Lebanon's internal affairs.

Meanwhile, Lebanon's Justice Minister Adnan Addoum also ruled out the international probe on the murder, and said it added doubt on the country's reputation, capability and sovereignty.
