COLOMBO, Feb. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- One person was killed and two others were injured on Saturday when a Tamil Tiger political office located in a northern Sri Lankan came under attack, police said.

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) office at Mannar, 330 km from the capital Colombo, came under a grenade attack at around 8 p.m. local time (1400 GMT) Saturday.

A group of people who had come in a three-wheeled taxi had flung a grenade, killing a civilian and causing injuries to two LTTE members. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The LTTE is plagued by the internecine clashes ever since its once powerful eastern commander Karuna broke ranks with them in March last year. Enditem
