Israeli-Palestinian scurity talks postponed
www.chinaview.cn 2005-02-11 13:01:58

BEIJING, Feb. 11 -- Israel has postponed security talks with Palestinians after militants fired mortars at Israeli settlements in Gaza.

The talks were aimed at consolidating a ceasefire agreed by the Israeli and Palestinian leaders on Tuesday.

Hamas, which says it is not bound by the deal, said it fired mortar shells and rockets at Gush Katif settlement.

It said it was avenging the death of a Palestinian man who came under fire from a settlement in Gaza on Wednesday.
