Iraqi police arrest man suspected of beheading hostages

    TIKRIT, Iraq, Feb. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- The Iraqi police arrested a manon suspicion of beheading hostages held for working with US forces,police sources said Tuesday.

    "Iraqi security forces in Sherqat area in Salahudin province captured Khaled Zakiyah who was suspected of involving in terroristacts and beheadings," the source, who asked not to be named, told Xinhua.

    Iraqi security forces in Tikrit, the hometown of ousted Iraqi president Saddam Hussein, received information that the al Qaida's Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was seen in Sherqat, some 300 km north of Baghdad, the source said, adding investigation and search in the area was underway.
