Hostages taken at Spanish consulate in Berne

    GENEVA, Feb. 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Police sealed off the Spanish consulate in Switzerland's capital Bern on Monday, after unconfirmed reports said that unidentified individuals had taken over the consulate and seized at least one hostage inside the building, reports here said.

    However, police in Bern issued a statement, saying they could neither confirm nor deny the report.

    Earlier, Spain's state radio reported that several hostages had been captured at the consulate and one person might have been wounded. Enditem
