ĦĦBEIJING, Feb. 3 (Xinhuanet) -- China urged Thursday every nation in the six-party talks about the Korean Peninsular nuclear issue to show more sincerity, pragmatic attitude and flexibility in a bid to offer a relaxed atmosphere for the next round of talks.

"At present, the six-party talks has met some difficulties," acknowledged Kong Quan, China's Foreign Ministry spokesman, at a regular press conference.

However, he said all parties involved know about how arduous the issue has been from the very beginning and have braced themselves for going on surmounting difficulties.

"We are convinced that the six-party talks mechanism, which was instituted with joint efforts of six nations, is the best way to resolve the Korean Peninsular nuclear issue effectively and peacefully," he said. China has been keeping contacts with all the other parties and has been making active efforts in this regard, he said.

"We hope China's persistent, active efforts can win positive responses from all the other parties so as to join hands in pushing for the convening of the next round of talks at an earlier date," he said.

Three rounds of six-party talks, sponsored and presided over byChina, had been held by last June with the participation of the Democratic People's Republic Korea (DPRK), the United States, Republic of Korea, Japan and Russia.

A fourth round has yet to be held. Pyongyang ascribed the deadlock to the hostile policy the United States adopted towards the DPRK. Enditem
