963 Palestinians killed in 2004: report

    GAZA, Feb. 2 (Xinhuanet) -- A report issued Wednesday by the Palestinian National Information Center (PNIC) said 963 Palestinians were killed by the Israeli army in the territories in 2004.

    The report said 709 people were killed in Gaza and 254 others in the West Bank.

    Among the killed, 172 were children, it said.

    According to the report, October 2004 witnessed the highest death toll, with 153 Palestinians killed within the month.Thousands of Palestinians have been killed since the Intifada(Uprising) broke out in September 2000. Enditem
