AMMAN, Jan. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Iraqis living in Jordan concludedcasting ballots Sunday evening in Iraq's first election after thefall of Saddam Hussein in April 2003.
Nearly 73 percent or 20,000 registered Iraqi expatriates castballots by the end of the third voting day in Jordan, according tothe International Organization for Migration (IOM), which is incharge of the out-of-country voting for Iraq's landmark elections.
Accounting of the votes will be carried out on Monday morning atone of the polling stations in southern Amman.
The IOM organized the three-day vote in Australia, Britain,Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Iran, Jordan, the Netherlands,Sweden, Syria, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the UnitedStates.
Over 280,000 Iraqi expatriates all over the world registered tovote between Jan. 17 and 25.
The IOM will begin to count ballots on Monday and the results ofthe expatriate vote will be sent to Iraq's Independent ElectoralCommission on Feb. 5. Enditem
