www.chinaview.cn 2005-01-28 08:44:53

SAN JOSE, Jan. 27 (Xinhuanet) -- Deputy President of Costa Rica Luis Fishman presented Thursday his resignation for "personal reasons," said local television Channel 7.

"The moment has come for me to focus on other duties," Fishman said on Channel 7.

The vice president was marginalized in the government because he had differed with President Abel Pacheco on some issues, according to local media.

Fishman did not say whether he would run for public office in the future.
