BEIJING, Jan. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- One day after US ERP giant Oracle announced its plan after purchasing PeopleSoft, its main existing rival, Germany company SAP announced Wednesday its acquisition of TomorrowNow, a service provider to about 100 companies that use programs from SAP, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards, to try to grab PeopleSoft clients.

The SAP offers maintenance and support for PeopleSoft and JDE solutions through TomorrowNow and will initially provide administration for clients who are already SAP clients.

The offering provides companies "a safe passage away from the uncertainties arising out of the acquisition of those software brands by Oracle Corporation and a clear road map to assist these companies in evolving to the next generation of business software."

Oracle CEO Larry Ellison announced on Tuesday its "Project Fusion", while reiterating the company's continuity to Peoplesoft's products. Ellison reassured former PeopleSoft customers that the company would support and enhance the products of PeopleSoft which it newly acquired at the cost of $10.5 billion, through at least 2013.
