ANKARA, Jan. 16 (Xinhuanet) -- Iraq's State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) signed contracts with Turkish companies to meet half of Iraqi need of fuel oil, semi-official Anatolia News Agency reported on Sunday.

The report said that administrators of more than 20 Turkish companies met SOMO Director General Dhiaa Al-Bakkaa in Jordanian capital Amman for the procurement of oil products which Iraqi people need for 2005.

According to the contracts covering January-June 2005 period, Turkish companies will export 600,000 tons of fuel oil per day to Iraq.
