RAMALLAH, Jan. 15 (Xinhuanet) -- A senior Palestinian official called on
Israel Saturday to stop immediately the ongoing military actions which left six
Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip.
"We call upon the United States to end the Israeli army aggressions against
our people and we call upon the Israeli government to go immediately with us for
a ceasefire without incursions and assassinations," said Nabil Abu Rudeineh,
advisor ofthe Palestinian National Authority (PNA).
"The Palestinians have started a new era since Mahmoud Abbas waselected and
sworn in as the new leader. And President Abbas is determined to achieve law and
discipline in the Palestinian territories," he added.
He said the Palestinians are committed to the roadmap peace planand that
"Israel has to stop aggressions and return immediately to the negotiations table
so as to revive the peace process."
Israel cut all contacts with the new Palestinian
leadership and shut down all major border crossings into Gaza after six Israelis
were killed in a Palestinian suicide bomb attack on the Karni passage between
Gaza and Israel on Thursday.
