BAGHDAD, Jan. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- Three US soldiers were killed on Thursday in two separate attacks in north and west of Iraq, the US military said on Friday.

"One 1st Infantry Division soldier died Jan. 13 while supporting Task Force Olympia operations near Mosul," the military said in a statement.

In another separate incident, the military said "two Marines assigned to I Marine Expeditionary Force were killed in action on Jan. 13, while conducting security and stability operations in the Al Anbar Province."

The statement gave no further details, saying "the release of more details about the incident could place our personnel at greater risk."

Over 1,350 US soldiers have been killed since the US-led invasion of Iraq in March 2003.  Enditem
