Urgent: Paris club agrees to freeze tsunami-hit nations debt repayment

    PARIS, Jan. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- The Paris Club of creditor nations agreed on Wednesday to freeze debt repayments of Asian countries stricken by the tsunami, the Club's president Jean-Pierre Jouyet said.

    He said the group of rich creditor nations would allow any country that wants to halt repayments on debt to take advantage of their offer.
