TANANARIVE, Jan. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing on Monday held talks with his Madagascan counterpart Marcel Ranjeva on bilateral relations and regional and international issues of common concern.

    Li said the two countries have supported each other on domestic construction and international affairs since China and Madagascar established diplomatic relations in 1972.

    China is willing to strengthen coordination with Madagascar on international issues, and promote visits and cultural exchanges between the two nations, said Li, noting China will encourage Chinese enterprises to invest in Madagascar.

    Ranjeva said the China-Africa Cooperation Forum has served as aplatform for China's support for Africa, expressing his thanks forChina's help.

    Madagascar cherishes the friendship between the two countries, said Ranjeva, noting his country will adhere to the one-China policy and support China's peaceful reunification.

    Li is on his four-nation African tour from Jan. 6 to Jan. 14, which has taken him to Lesotho and Seychelles. He will also visit Mauritius. Enditem
