BAGHDAD, Jan. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- A US Marine was killed in action on Sunday in western Iraq, the US military confirmed Monday.

    "A Marine assigned to I Marine Expeditionary Force was killed in action on Jan. 9, while conducting security and stability operations in the Anbar province," said a statement from the US military.

    The statement gave no details about the death of the Marine which brings to 1,065 the number of US troops killed in action in Iraq since the US invasion in March 2003. Enditem
