JAKARTA, Jan. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- An earthquake
measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale was felt in the Indonesian province of Aceh
at 05:12 a.m. local time Monday (22:12 GMT Sunday).
The epicenter was located in the Indian Ocean about 149 km southwest of Aceh, according to a report from the
Meteorology and Geophysics Agency.
On Dec. 26, 2004, a 8.7-magnitude quake in the Indian
Ocean triggered a tsunami that swept through several regencies in Aceh and left
more than 100,000 people dead. Enditem
