S. Korean PM wraps up visit to Sri Lanka

    COLOMBO, Jan. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- South Korean Prime Minister Lee Hae-chan ended his tour of Tsunami devastated Sri Lanka after a two-day visit, Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.

    Lee Hae-chan called on President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse for talks on the tidal wave disaster and bilateral relations during his stay here.

    Lee Hae-chan said South Korea has decided to assist Sri Lanka with immediate relief assistance, reconstruction and early Tsunamiwarning system.

    Accompanied by Rajapakse, the South Korean Prime Minister Saturday saw the tidal waves devastated areas in the Southern coast and inspected the relief work involving his country's assistance which is now in progress.

    The relief supplies Lee brought here included water purifiers, blankets and clothing. Enditem
