SINGAPORE, Jan. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has committed sufficient resources to help rebuilding Banda Aceh and Meulaboh in west Sumatra of Indonesia, said Singapore's Chief of Defence Force on Saturday.

According to local media reports, the military official saw no need for additional resources to help with the relief efforts at present in these two disaster-stricken areas.

He said that SAF soldiers, who are transporting food and supplies to the affected people, will work on the ground until theIndonesian authorities and the international relief aid agencies finalize their coordination efforts.

In Singapore, a relief coordination center under the United Nations is being established so that relief supplies could reach Banda Aceh and Meulaboh continuously through the island state.

Singapore's Law Society said on Thursday that it is ready to extend legal aid for tsunami victims both domestically and regionally.

The latest update by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shows thatthe number of uncontactable Singaporeans in the tsunami disaster has dropped to 10, while 16 others are missing and the dead remains 8. Enditem
