ANKARA, Jan. 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Turkey will make more contribution toMiddle East peace process from now on, Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said on Friday.

    "The atmosphere in the Middle East is very different today when compared with the past," Gul told a private television channel NTV following his return from visit to Israel, Palestine and Jordan.

    He said that he discussed possible contribution of Turkey to thepeace process during his meetings with Israeli and Palestinian officials.

    Gul did not detail what contribution Turkey would offer, but he said that Turkey was eager to contribute because it felt morally responsible.

    Turkey has enjoyed close ties with Israel since the two countries signed a military cooperation agreement in 1996, while Ankara stands by the Palestinians in their bid for statehood. Enditem
