SEOUL, Jan. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- South Korean Presidential Office on Tuesday afternoon denied Seoul is pursuing joint visit by leaders of South Korea and the United States to a border city of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Yoon Sock-joong, secretary to the President for Foreign Media at the Presidential Office, told Xinhua it is just a joke made between Roh and Bush when they casually met in corridor of the meeting place of Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in last November in Santiago.
Yoon said Bush agreed on Roh's goodwill joke with sense of humor which showed the two leaders hope well going of inter-Korean relations.
Meanwhile, South Korean Presidential Spokesman Kim Jong-min also explained in a briefing that only casual remarks were exchanged between the two leaders, saying that some news outlets misunderstood Roh's remarks as an agreement.
"We are not officially pursuing a visit to Kaesong by the two leaders," Kim said.
Kaesong Industrial Complex is a joint project pursuing by South Korea and the DPRK. Two South Korean labor-intense companies have started production in a pilot zone in the complex up to now. Enditem |
