China's largest NGO, major anti-AIDS fighter

    BEIJING, Jan. 4 -- China Family Planning Association is to launch a nationwide campaign against AIDS in the country's 500 counties.

    Staff are being trained and a nationwide anti-AIDS knowledge contest is being prepared.

    The Director-general of China Family Planning Association Li Baozhong says they also plan to cooperate with the United Nations Population Fund on an AIDS prevention project in the universities and middle schools of Beijing and Shanghai.

    China Family Planning Association is the country's largest non-government organization with close to 100 million members and network organizations.
