Islamic militant group in Iraq threatens attacks in US

    BAGHDAD, Jan. 3 (Xinhuanet) -- An Islamic militant group calling itself "The Islamic Army in Iraq" threatened to carry out attacks inside the United States in 2005, a statement posted on a website said Monday.

    "This year will bring woes on America. The mujahedeen (holywarriors) have prepared big surprises for your sons outside Americaand a big surprise for you inside America," the statement said."The mujahedeen will take the battle from our country (Iraq) toyours," it added.

    Islamic militant groups in Iraq have frequently claimed responsibility for attacks against foreign troops and civilians in the violence-ravaged country. Enditem
