MOSCOW, Jan. 3 (Xinhuanet) -- A grenade exploded at a market in Grozny, capital of Russia's republic of Chechnya, injuring six, the Interfax news agency reported Monday.
The blast took place at the Severny market of the Chechen capital on Sunday night. Three Russian soldiers, two Chechen policemen and a civilian were injured, the Interfax said.
The Russian government had intensified crackdown operations in the republic of Chechnya after a series of deadly terrorist attacks last year. Those attacks blamed on Chechen rebels claimed hundreds of lives in the country. Enditem |
