    HONG KONG, Jan. 2 (Xinhuanet)-- The death toll from the massive tsunamis triggered by a 9.0-magnitude earthquake in Indonesia last Sunday has risen to over 140,000. Following are the figures reported from some disaster-hit countries:

The death toll from the massive tsunamis triggered by a 9.0-magnitude earthquake in Indonesia last Sunday has risen to over 140,000. The World Health Organization (WHO) warned on Saturday that first signs of potentially deadly diseases are threatening survivors in tsunami-hit areas in Asia.
