BEIJING, Dec. 31 -- The Israeli army killed 3 militants from the Palestinian armed group Hamas during a raid in the southern Gaza Strip.

¡¡  Another Hamas member was seriously wounded in the Israeli military operation.

    Earlier, witnesses said two Palestinians were killed by Israeli automatic fire and shells in the western part of the Khan Younis refugee camp.

    Israel's military authority says it believes the refugee camp is a Hamas stronghold and the troops entered the camp in a bid to stop militants firing rockets and mortars towards Israeli targets in a settlement in the Gaza Strip.
