BAGHDAD, Dec. 29 (Xinhuanet) -- A sailor serving with the US marines in Anbar province, west of Baghdad, was killed in non-combat incident, the US military said on Wednesday.

"One Sailor assigned to the I Marine Expeditionary Force died in a non-hostile incident Tuesday, Dec 28 while conducting security and stabilization operations in the Al Anbar Province," the military said in a statement.

The name of the dead is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Anbar province, which includes the battlefields cities of Fallujah, Ramadi, has been virtually paralyzed by ongoing conflicts between US forces and insurgents.
