BEIJING, Dec. 29 -- Christmas is definitely in the air around the globe. And the Christmas buzz has been increasingly welcomed by Chinese people, as internationalization continues to transform the landscape.

    Our reporter Wang Yanning visited Beijing's biggest Christmas tree, along with some of the other popular Christmas spots in the capital on Christmas Eve. She came back with some Christmas cheer, and this report.

    With fireworks and enthusiasm, the capital city's biggest Christmas tree was lit in the center of Workers' Stadium on Christmas Eve. A Beijing resident, said, "Beijing is an international metropolis now. So we are very eager to celebrate Christmas. And also it's a good time to have some fun with friends and family members."

    And to set the stage in a dramatic way, Beijing welcomed its first winter snow just days before Christmas. So it's even easier for most Beijing residents to get caught up in the Christmas activities.

    As China is getting more and more internationalized, most Chinese use it as a chance to indulge their eyes and mouths. Christmas feasts are rapidly becoming a hot ticket during the formerly western-holiday season. Some people are even paying a hundred US dollars per person, or more to celebrate a Christmas banquet with family and friends.

    Indulging in mouth-watering delights while being swept away by an array of cultural holiday entertainment has become a bit of a rage in big cities such as Beijing now. For many Chinese, the novel idea of "Christmas" has arrived, becoming another welcome and pleasant way to celebrate the country's "opening up" and development.
